QUALIFYING SHOWS FOR THE P(UK) SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIPS:

FINALS TO BE HELD AT:

Newark & Nott’s Showground, Newark, Nott’s NG24 2NY

8th – 11th August 2012. Open to PUK members and Non Members.

 

Qualification for P (UK) Summer National Championships

1st 2nd and 3rd placed horses/ponies in all Summer National Championships will qualify for the 2012

P (UK) Summer National Championships. Mixed height classes 1st, 2nd and 3rd qualify only.

Qualifying class number are: 4,5,6,8,14,16,20,21,22,23,24,27,40,41,42,43,45,46,47

Results must be submitted to the Ponies (UK) office within 3 days of the qualifying show with the exception  of shows being held between 1st July and 31st July; these shows need to submit their results within 48 hours after the qualifying event. Qualification cards will not be presented in the ring.

Competitors in qualifying positions, who are not current members of P (UK) are allowed 14 days in which to become members and register their horses/ponies in order for the qualification to remain valid.  The exception being any competitor qualifying at a show between 1st July and 31st July their membership must be submitted within 48 hours after the qualifying event in order for the qualification to remain valid.

2012 POLLYANNA CONFINED NOVICE SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP

These classes are for horses/ponies that have not won a first prize of £10.00 or more in any open (relevant) class before 1st January in the current year.1st, 2nd & 3rd placed ponies/horses in all 2012 Summer Pollyanna Confined Novice Qualifiers will qualify for 2012 P(UK) Summer Championships. Qualifying class numbers are: 10 & 13. Qualification Cards will not be presented in the ring.

Once qualified if the rider/handler is not a current member with Ponies Association (UK), they have 14 days in order to become an ‘A’/Senior/Junior Riders Club Member in order for the qualification to remain valid.

 

 

 

CHAPS (UK) This show is affiliated to the Coloured Horse and Pony Society (UK).

Both owner and the Rider/Exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete.

The CHAPS (UK) Championship Show will be held on 30th August to 1st September 2012.

The following classes are CHAPS(UK) qualifiers 14, 46 & 47. For full rulings & information on competition/qualification, please refer to the CHAPS(UK) Members Handbook or visit www.chapsuk.com for rulings.  All stallions entering these classes must be graded or valid First Stage Approved with CHAPS(UK).

 

IRISH DRAUGHT HORSE SOCIETY (GB)

Classes 11 & 32 are affiliated to the Irish Draught Horse Society of Great Britain (IDHS (GB)) and only horses registered with the IDHS (GB) in the correct ownership are eligible for entry. All breeding and in hand exhibits must be already Graded* or eligible for Class 1 on the Irish Draught Breed Register OR registered on the Grade 1 Irish Draught Sport Horse Register. Registration numbers to be stated on the entry form and entries will be sent to the IDHS (GB) prior to the show to confirm eligibility.

 

Class 11 is a Qualifier for the Blue Chip & Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) £2,000 Challenge.

The highest placed Irish Draught Pure Bred and the highest placed Irish Draught Sport Horse (not already qualified) will both qualify for the Final of the Blue Chip & IDHS (GB) £2,000 Challenge which is held at the IDHS (GB) Annual Breed Show on (date and venue to be announced annually).  NB: A horse may only qualify for the Final once, regardless of type or number of classes won, placed in or entered.  Each qualifier will receive a card and a £10 voucher from Blue Chip.  Qualifiers are required to complete an online form at www.idhsgb.com to inform the IDHS (GB) that they have qualified for the Final.  Following submission of the online form, a qualifier’s pack will be sent out direct to the qualifier.  In the Final, the Champion will be awarded £1,000 prize money, a Trophy and a Blue Chip rug.  The Reserve Champion will be awarded £500 and 3rd to 7th inclusive will be awarded £100 each.  In addition, the highest placed Pure Bred Irish Draught will be awarded a Trophy and £100 and the highest placed 158 cm (15.2 hh) and under will receive a Trophy and £50.”

 Class 32 is a Qualifier for the NFU Mutual Irish Draught Youngstock Challenge.

The two highest placed PURE BREDS from each age group, yearling (filly, colt or gelding), 2 year old (filly, colt or gelding) and 3 year old (filly or gelding) eligible for Class 1 of the Irish Draught Breed Register by an RID (GB), ID Class 1 or ID Class 2 sire out of a Graded* dam, also 2 and 3 year old fillies already Graded* or, if one or both have already qualified, the horse next in line in each age group will qualify to go forward to the Final at the IDHS (GB) Annual Breed Show (date and venue to be announced annually).  Each qualifier will receive a card. Qualifiers are required to complete an online form at www.idhsgb.com to inform the IDHS (GB) that they have qualified for the Final. Following submission of the online form, a qualifier’s pack will be sent out direct to the qualifier.  In the Final, there will be three classes each with prize money to the value of £150.  The two highest placed semi-finalists from each class will go forward to the Championship where the Champion will receive £150 and the Reserve Champion £100.

 

EQUIFEST Qualifiers: This show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground on the 16th-19th August 2012. The Two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify.

These relate to the following class numbers: 4,5,8,14,16,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,36,46,47.

 

The BSPS Bright Star Final classes are 4,5,8,and 20.

The finals will be held at the B.S.P.S. Summer Championships Show. All competitors in the final will receive a Finalist Rosette. Placed Rosettes will be awarded to 10th place in all classes.

Sashes will be awarded to all class winners. The 1st and 2nd prize winners of each class will compete for the:-“BRIGHT STARS SUPREME”. The Supreme Champion will receive a Flower Sash.

The Supreme Championship will be held during the Saturday Evening Performance, in the Vauxhall Championships Hall, (Indoor Arena) Please see the BSPS website for more info.

To be judged on overall condition, muscle tone and soundness in walk and trot. Race related scarring and other disfigurements (e.g. Bowed tendons, splints) to be disregarded. Consideration given to time out of racing, e.g.: a horse out of racing for 3 years should have better muscle tone than one out of racing for a year. All competitors to walk, trot and canter round as a group to assess general control. Individual shows should include walk, trot & canter on both reins. 

To be judged on the horse’s acceptance of aids and suitability for its new job. Also to be judged on the level of control by the rider in all gaits and manners whilst in the ring.

No entry placed lower than fourth can qualify, even if only one height section is covered by the top four in the class. This is a qualifying show for the CHERIF CHAMPIONSHIP 2012. Exhibits must be registered in the Part Bred section of their Breed Society. Registration numbers must be stated on the entry form. To be judged as a Riding Horse/ Riding Pony. Horses will be ridden at the judge’s discretion.

Ponies (UK) Domino Part Bred Ridden Championship

Equifest Qualifier (Yorkshire Supporters) Animals will not be ridden at the finals.

GENERAL RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY FOR THE SHOW

All field entries for the 1st classes in the morning must be entered by 8.30am and Working Hunter 8am.

We want to be seen as being helpful. Due to practicality (and queues) it will only be possible to change ONE already entered animal on the day, you may have to wait until there is a break in the queue for this to be done. Please be patient.

1.             The Secretary reserves the right to refuse or cancel any entries or classes, refunding any entry fees. Refunds will not be given unless accompanied by a valid vet’s certificate.

2.             No appeal can be made against the Judges decision which is final. The Judges have the right to disqualify any competitor for abuse of whip, spurs, cruelty or discourteousness.

3.             Only Officials, competitors and their grooms are allowed in the Judging Rings.

4.             Any objections to be lodged with the Secretary within half an hour of the event finishing, together with the sum of £5 - returnable at the discretion of the Secretary.

5.             No responsibility is accepted by the Show, or its organisers, for any accident or loss on the showground to spectators, competitors, their horses or property.

6.             All Championship Cups & Trophies to be signed for on collection. All 2011 Cups must be returned to the Secretary by 1st June 2012. All cups won at this years show to be returned by 1st June 2013. 

7.             All dogs must be kept on leads. Dog fouling MUST be picked up by owners.

8.             Owners will be responsible for any cost of treatment by the Veterinary Surgeons.

9.             No pony or horse, under the age of four, should be entered in the Ridden Classes.

10.           Substitutions will only be accepted if accompanied by a Veterinary Certificate.

11.           In the event of classes running over running, we reserve the right to transfer classes to unoccupied rings, hold back classes and use available judges.

12.           In the unlikely event of the cancellation, of the show by the organisers through circumstances beyond their control, refunds of fees will not be made but presented to the stated charities.

13.           Correct riding clothes & hard hats must be worn by everyone riding on the showground.

14.           To the best of our knowledge, all information & rules are correct at time of schedule going to print.
